Spend time in Puerto Vallarta and you will see Huichol (or ‘Wixarika’ as they call themselves) musicians, artists and artisans. Their spectacular music, art and crafts are omnipresent, even though there relatively few Wixarika living in the town. Few American and Canadian residents or visitors to PV know much about the Wixarika. Even fewer have ever visited one of their communities in the Sierra Madre.
